Rangers Rap

By Larry Silverman 04/21/2024, 2:30pm CDT

Ger's split a pair in Sunday's action.  First tilt, the bats were a bit sleepy and Gers lost 12-6.  The Cubs played a bit better and the Gers D and O were not crisp.

Second game was a see-saw affair with plenty of sloppy play by both squads.  Many errors, misplays, and silly plays were quite evident.  Luckily, the Gers had just enough to squeeze out a 14-13 W.  The Coach luckily has a good operating pacemaker to combat what he witnessed.  Either way, that's 3 of last 4 for the surging Rangers who go back in division this coming Sunday with revenge in mind!!

Ruby Ranger's:

TJ the hitting terror and also strong RCFder goes 6/7 2B HR 3 RBI's and 4 Runs

Jason in 2nd game was 4/4 with 3 runs and 2 RBI's

Paul V  5 Hits, HR, and 2 2B's

Ben with a granny in 2nd tilt-they are still looking for that ball!!

Tae Lee 5/7

Alba 4 hits and Parr with 4 hits

Leonardo the Q man with a 3B and HR

Ranger's Rap

By Larry Silverman 04/14/2024, 8:15pm CDT

The Ranger's tasted the thrill of victory in a double dip sweep in Sunday's action.  It was all there, suddenly!!! Great hitting and Defense.  In the first encounter the Gres played against a very formidable Brave squad sporting a great record.  In a very see-saw game, the Gers prevailed 17-12.  The pitching was stellar by Brad "more than" Parr and the Defense was solid including good play all around.  Ben Enlow "ded" could not keep the ball in the park on his way to a monster double dip....2 Shots in the game. Tim , Jason, and Tae also went yard....well Tae's was inside the park but very impressive!! Super subs Paul and Danny had 5 hits and 3 RBI's between them.

Seconf tilt found the Ger's in a clash with our friends from North of the Border-the Spos.  Another team with a fine record.  The Gers exploded for 17 runs in route to a 17-2 victory.  7  2B's, 2 HR's, and 2 3B's with the wind blowing in...what a wonderful display of power and great base running.  The D and pitching was stellar as the Ger's for the first time all season secured a sweep.  Many stars on the day...

POW-Ben Enlow  6/6, 3 HR's, 2B,  6 RBI's,  5 Runs and great D

Tae Lee-5/6 HR, 3B, 3 Runs, and 5 RBI's

Jason "Nice" Wonger 4/6 HR,  3B, 4 Runs, and 8 RBI's-Great SS

Paul V-super sub  5/6 3 2B's 3B, and HR 5 Runs and 3 RBI's

Super sub Danny Marti-5/5 5 RBI's 2B and 2 Runs

Tim J  HR   2B  3 Runs, and 3 RBI's great D in RCF

Brad "way over" Parr  5/6  5 Runs, 2 2Bs and great P

Yours truly Sil with 2 BB's a hit and 2 Runs scored!!

Red Sox split

Red Sox split tough doubleheader with Cardinals and Reds
Visiting the Cardinals, the Sox scored 2 on a Garett Granato 2 run HR. After 2 innings the visitors trailed 11-2. The Sox would fight and chase the rest of the game. The Spx scored 5 in the 3rd on a 2 run HR from Joe Calvano, a solo HR from Ryan Maxwell, and run scoring hits from sub Todd LeCocq and Dorian Moore, but with 2 outs and bases loaded, Ian Contreras bases clearing 2B went for naught as the 1st runner tagged the wrong home plate. The cardinals scored 6 for a 17-7 lead after 3. The Sox scored 5 more in the 4th on Calvano's 3 run HR and Eli Goldaris 2 run HR and after the Cardinals scored 1 the Sox plated 5 more in the 5thbut fell 1 run short 18-17. The last 5 featured a SF from Granato and a grand slam from Maxwell, but Alfredo Sardi was stranded at 2nd as the tying run following his 2B.
The Sox took a 4-1 lead after 1 on the Reds in game 2 featuring a 3 run HR from Calvano. The Reds did some hitting and took advantage of some miscues for a 10-4 lead after 1 1/2 innings. The Sox again rallied with 6 in the home 2nd behind a 2 run 2B from Calvano, run scoring hit fropm maxwell, and 2 run HR from Goldaris. The Sox scored 5 more in the home 3rd for a 15-10 lead featuring a Dorian Moore 3B, run scoring hit from Contreras, 2 run hit from Granato, and a  run scoring 2B from Calvano. The Reds scored 2 in the 4th, but the hosts added 1 in the 4th  on a Sardi 3B and 2 in the 5th on solo HRs from Granato and Maxwell and prevailed 18-12.
Notables: POW Joe Calvano 6-7, 6 runs, 12 RBI, BB, 3 2Bs, 3 HRs, great leadership; POW Alfredo Sardi 5-7, 1 run, 2B, 3B, excellent defense; POW Ian Contreras 5-6, 4 runs, 2 RBI 9robeed of 3 more), 2B; ROW Garett Granato 7-7, 7 runs, 6 RBI, SF, 2B, 2 HRS, great defense; Ryan Maxwell, 5-8, 5 runs, 7 RBI, 3 HRs; Eli Goldaris 4 hits, 3 runs, 4 RBI, 2 HRs; Sheldon Fulton 6 runs, 3 hits, 2 BBs; Dorian Moore 3 hits, 2B, 3B; Brian Conn 3 hits.
