Rangers top the Muckdogs

-------------------------

The sun was peaking above the Right field foul pole and steadily climbing when the Rangers stepped on to the field.  85 degrees with a mild breeze...until you touched the turf.  Quickly the game heated up.  Unfortunately the bats did not...

The first inning was a bust as we went down 1,2,3.  The only saving grace was the Muck Dogs followed with only a hit to show for their efforts.  Thankfully the second inning provided a much needed spark as the middle of the order loaded the bases for Steve Johnson whose double cleared them. Bottom of the 2nd saw the Rangers with a 5-0 lead (but a faulty scoreboard said otherwise).  The game wore on...the heat off the turf intensified.  The Muck Dogs would answer with 3 bombs to bring the score to 5-3.  A 2 run shot by Kravitz would make it 7-3.  Great Pitching by Kilburn would hold the Dogs to only 2 more runs.  Ryan Richardson would blast his first of 4 HRs on the day in the 4th...and that would be all the offense needed, as the Muck Dogs would eventually go down in 7... Final score Rangers 8, Muckdogs 5.

Kyle Kravitz 2-4 Single, HR

Liam Kilburn 4 Walks

Rangers beat the Tigers for the Sweep.

-------------------------------------

After an hour long break and some much needed time inside with the A/C running... the refreshed Rangers took the field to face the Tigers. Richardson would hit the first of this 3 Bombs in his very first at bat.  Followed by a Bone Single, Kilburn walk, Kravitz fly ball to advance the runners setting up Liam Kilburn for a two run single.  Tim Crites would Score Jon Kilburn on a single, and Garreth Johnson would move the runners.  That would be all for the 1st inning.  The Tigers would throw up 2.  With the score 4-2 in the top of the second inning the Rangers would continue there hitting onslaught.  A double for Richardson, a single from Bone and a 2 RBI double from Kilburn would set up a Kravitz Sac, followed by Liam Kilburn second single of the day to score Jon. A triple from Tim Crites would score Liam to make it 8-2 going into the bottom of the 2nd.  A few errors later and the score was 8-6...but then the Rangers would pull away and never look back.  Another HR from Richardson, a single from Bone and Monster HR shot to the top of the net from Jon Kilburn would throw up 3 more.  The hitting would continue in the 5th and 6th to bring the score to 17 for the Rangers. The Tigers fought hard but just couldn't muster enough offense to pull of the win.  Final score Rangers 17, Tigers 11.
