The theme of today is no lead is safe in Shalom. 

Game 1 @ Jays - Heritage Yards - Field 9

A very slow start to this one especially for the Yard Goats as they could only manufacture 2 runs in the first 5 innings. A 3 spot in the top of the 6th cut the Jays lead to 7-5. But the Jays came alive with 5 big insurance runs to surely put the game away. But the Yard Goats are resilient and never say die. The bottom half of the lineup came up huge. After a lead off out, Matt Myers, Ray Darragh and Sam Dlott all singled to get the rally going. Then after a Roy White walk, Tyler Samsel and Tony Martin singled to bring up the tying run in Ari Loiben. Ari lined one to right and got a huge stretch double to get in scoring position. Daryl Drake lined one through the whole to score 2 runs and tie the game. The bottom of the 7th was eventful as a leadoff single for the Jays got through the legs of Matt Myers and the winning run was now on 3rd with no outs. But Roy White was up to the challenge and got the next two hitters to pop up, the third to fly out to keep the game alive, and great short memory by Matt Myers as he made a play minutes later to keep the game alive and send it to one pitch extras.The top of the 8th was more of the same as the 7th for the Goats as the bottom came through and clutch hitting with two outs. RBI hits from White, Martin, Loiben, Nick Croce, and Zak Edgerton scored 7 more runs all with 2 outs. The defense came through in the bottom of the 8th to secure a 19-13 win.

Game 2 @Astros - Heritage Yards - Field 9

The Goats picked up where they left off from game 1 scoring 4 in the first with RBI's from Ari Loiben, Roy White, Nick Croce, and Zak Edgerton. Up 4-3 in the top of the 3rd, the Goats offense exploded again scoring 11 in the inning. Tyler Samsel scored twice in the inning. Tony Martin had 2 hits and a bases clearing double. Croce had a 3 run homer. David Greer had a two run bomb. The lead would dwindle in the final inning as the Astros scored 6 in the last frame and had the tying run on first before a lineout to left center to end the game giving the Yard Goats their third one run win of the season. Goats win 17-16.
