This season has been one of adversity due to the injury bug.  One player returns and another goes down.  Maybe the captain's injury was a blessing in disguise as we replaced his lack of range and spotty hitting with a solid sub in Vinnie Terhune.  Great day for the Tiger Bats!

Game 1 vs. Greeley's River Bandits

This was a tight back and forth affair early on.  We came out of the gate hot and plated 6 runs in the top of the 1st.  The big blow was the first of Kelly Alexander's three bombs on the day.  The Bandits answered with 6 of their own thanks to a bomb by some oaf named Driggers or something like that.  We would score 3 in the 2nd on another Alexander bomb only to be answered by 3 from Greeley's squad.  We put up a 7 spot in the 3rd sparked by 5 consecutive singles by the bottom of the order.  The Banditos would answer with 6.  Alexander would come in to pitch and hold them to only 1 run in the next 2 innings.  We padded the lead in the 4th and 5th with 5 more runs and seal the W.  Great team hitting all around and sparkling defense capped with an amazing diving catch by Super Sub Vinnie Terhune.

Game 2 vs Roth's Indians

We started with 4 in the top of the 1st aided by a 3 run bomb from Alexander.  The Injuns would answer with 3 and the bats went kinda silent for both teams for a couple innings.  In the 4th inning clinging to a 8-5 lead, it was time to separate and put this one away against an ailing Indian squad.  An 11 run outburst with solid hitting all the way through the lineup and capped off with a huge grand salami by Terhune. I think the team is petitioning to see if the captain can maybe be out longer so we can keep this kid.  The game was not in doubt after this and we cruised to the sweep with an 18-8 victory.
