Cubs snagged a split despite playing poorly on both sides of the ball.
After falling behind 14-2 in the 4th inning to the Astros due to a barrage of misplays in the outfield,  a massive, 12-run bottom of the 4th brought them back even. Turbo Golden has the big hit in the inning, turning the lineup over with less than two outs with a 2 run double over the shallow playing Left Fielder. The final inning saw a couple of diving stabs from Aaron Nutt and Brady Allsbrook up the middle to keep the score tied into the bottom half of the final inning. With runners on 2nd and 3rd with 2 outs, in a very controversial move the Astros intentionally walked the rookie, speedy lefty Tanner Gandy to pitch to Lee McDonald with the bases juiced, two outs, and the game on the line. The move did not pay off, as McDonald huffed, and he puffed, and hit a walk off salami.
The Cubs lost the second game.
