Braves split a pair of walkoffs

The Braves played a couple of nailbiters today, getting walked off in a heartbreaker in game 1 but salvaging a split with a 9 inning walkoff victory of their own in game 2.

 

Game 23:

 

Brumley’s Braves 9 @ Alford’s Iron Pigs 10

 

The Braves and Iron Pigs traded multi-run 1stinnings before scoring calmed down for the majority of this affair.  Tim Kaminskiwent deep and a Kevin Knoxsolo HR, Karlos RodriguezRBI double, and Omar Gonzalezgo ahead single led to the Braves turning an 8-5 deficit into a 9-8 lead in the top of the 6thwith time running out.  However, the Braves couldn’t quite close this one out as the I Pigs scored 2 runs with 2 outs to put the Braves away.

 

Zach San Roman: 2 for 3, 2 R

Tim Kaminski: 1 for 1, HR, 2 SF, R, 4 RBI

Kevin Knox: 3 for 3, HR, R, 2 RBI

Omar Gonzalez: 2 for 3, RBI

Gustavo Chirinos: 2 for 3

 

Game 24:

 

Unell's Dash 7 @ Brumley's Braves 8

 

Coming off a tough loss in game 1, the Braves could have easily tucked their tails and gone down quietly in game 2 after falling behind 7-0 in the top of the 3rd, but the good guys dug deep and responded with a 5 run 3rdinning on a string of RBI hits from the top of the order after Dustin Madlock and Tony Lowerygot on base to help turn over the lineup to start the inning.  The Braves later added a couple more runs on RBI doubles from Zach San Romanand Karlos Rodriguezto tie the game.  This game ended up going 9 innings as the Braves held the Dash scoreless over the final 6 before another clutch walkoff RBI single from Jerry Rogerssent the Braves fans home happy.
