Red Sox sweep against 3 Resilient teams

Red Sox sweep opening division action

The Red Sox had 2 road games against the strong division teams of Kyle Kravitz (Legends) and Andrew Williams (Isotopes).

In the opener the Red Sox batted around plating 7 runs featuring a run scoring 2B by Daryl Drake, Tin Kaminski's RBI hit, Brad Parr's 2 run 2B, Brad Cox's RBI hit, Brian Smallwood's 2B and Sean Harcourt's 2 run hit. The Legends responded with 6 for a 7-6 score after 1.  The Red Sox outdid their 1st inning with 10 in the 2nd but would not score again until extra innings arrived. The eruption featured Greg Badger Hurst w 2 runs from a 1B and BB, Drake's 2 hits, Brian Babbitt's SF,  Kaminski's 2 run opposite field HR, Joe Beasley's 2 run hit, and Matt Casey's RBI 3B before he ran into the fence and required stitches.  The Legends scored 3 in the 3rd inning and tied it with 7 runs in the home 5th. The Red Sox also displayed resilience w 4 runs in the first extra inning fueled by a SF from Drake, and run scoring hits from Babbitt, Kaminski, and Parr.  Parr threw 3 pitches to retire the game Legends in an excellent contest.

Game 2 was at William's strong Isotopes and the Sox were silent in the 1st 2 innings. Red Sox struck for 5 in the top of the 3rd featuring a GS HR opposite field through the wind by Babbitt and a SF by Parr scoring the injured Kaminski after a 3B. The Red Sox and 'Topes matched 1 run each in the 4th. In the 5th the Sox plated 3 on run scoring hits by Kaminski and Cox and another Parr SF. The Red Sox would score their last 3 in the 7th with hits from Babbitt, Kaminski, Parr, Smallwood and Harcourt.  The Isotopes displayed great character by scoring 8 in the home 7th making the score 12-9 as a Final.

The players were superb, with several injuries during the games and the hitting included Impact POW Tim Kaminski 6-9, 3B, HR, 5 runs, 5 RBI, 9 runs created and excellent defense at 1st while in great discomfort; Impact ROW Brian Babbitt, 6-7, BB, SF. 2 2Bs, HR, 4 runs, 7 RBI, 10 runs created, strong 3B defense;  Badger 5 runs, 4 BBs,and a hit, strong SS; Drake 5 hits, SF, 2 2Bs, 4 runs, 3 RBI, strong LCF defense and presence; Brad Parr 5 hits, 2B, BB, 2 SFs3 runs, 6 RBI; Cox 6-8, 3 RBI; Smallwood 3 hits, 2 2Bs; Harcourt 3 hits, BB, 3 RBI; and Beasley 3 hits, BB and wonderful rotating defense around the field. Appreciation to many Sox playing out of position but pushing through! Wonderful team mates!
