Ranger Rap

The Ger's continue their winning ways with another winning dip.  Current streak has reached 6 games as hitting, good pitching, and occasional defense have permeated.  These have been true team victories with contributions from many.  the opener was a nail biter as the Gers eeked out a 20-19 victory over the very game Bat's.  They were behind 8-3 after the Bat's 1st scoring 8 in the bottom half.  We scored 3 in 2nd and then an explosion of 12 in the 4th to take a 20-12 lead....back come the Bat's with 7 in bottom half and ended the game with the bags juiced, 3-1 count on the batter who hit a smash to LCF caught by our man RR.  We had 19 hits, 5 BB's, 5 2B's, and a HR in the slugfest.

2nd tilt once again saw the  Ger's give up a big 1st inning-we are very generous as the Taco's scored an early 6. We only got 1 with a solo shot from RR in bottom of 1st. Then came another outburst of 11 in bottom half on the 2nd.  That ended all scoring in the game as the Gers cruised to a 12-6 W.  In the game, Jonathan Braun made a tremendous catch in RF and then crashed to the ground with a concussion-but of course he held on to the ball!!! He also had a 2B and BB, RBI before bowing out of the game.  RR also had an OF throw for a put out to 2B and darn near had one at the plate.  The D was still a bit spotty but just good enough.  Kelly pitched excellent ball all day.  SS was very strong at 1B for a very welcome return to form-he also had 3 hits in the 2nd game.
