The Royal Fortune,

May 2nd, 2021

After an erratic sailing over Asian shores (refer to the previous letter for more details), Cap’n decided to return the marvelous ship to its origin, the Caribbean sea, by docking at the Guadeloupe island, famous for its delicious  French “Duck a la orange” dish sold at the best beach bar of the entire land, “Quak Quak Muck”

At first, Cap’n was concerned as responsible owner Muck had not shown to work and delegated his responsibilities to inexperienced and non-French speaker “manager” Niswonger who when asked for the bar menu (slang for team line-up in Guadeloupe) informed the crew that the best thing he could do was to text it but that will have an additional cost, and this infuriated the Cap’n who immediately ordered his staff to attack the bar with no mercy!

And the crew responded alright to the ordeal, with a total of 4 bullet attacks in the first inning, thanks to a massive bomb from “Quartermaster” Lawrence and rbi-single from Filibuster of the Week Donnie “Baseball” Holtmann. An attack that was reinforced in the 2nd inning with 4 more bullets thanks to rbi-singles from “First Mate” Baho and “Baseball” Holtmann

Heading to the 3rd inning, and with a scoreless Anatidae’s, the crew relaxed a bit after a comfortable lead, and the mighty ducks knew to capitalize with 3 hard bites (runs) to shorten the lead to 5. Immediately the crew answered back with 1 more bullet thanks to Holtmann's rbi-single, but then the sun started to shine in the Guadeloupe bay and the ducks reenergize themselves by having a 5 bite attack on the ship, setting the stage for another dramatic end for the hard-luck crew.

But this time, the goddess decided to smile at the crew for the first time in the season, as after a scoreless top of the 5th, the scary ducks were set to destroy the ship by just needing to score 2 more bites, but thanks a gold glove defensive by “Baseball” Holtmann, “First Mate” Baho and “Sub Sail Master” Rivera, the crew was able to hold scoreless the quak quak Ducks to claim their FIRST WIN OF THE SEASON and headed to celebrate with the banquet Cap’n promised the crew, a fantastic “Duck a la Orange”, a celebration that felt as if the crew had won it all. From the bottom of our hearts, thanks to all the fans for cheering up in the stands!

Bamboozled by the great win, courageous Cap’n decided to continue its navigation journey and headed to the US Virgin Islands (less than 4K miles away) to enjoy some beautiful beaches and relax after such majestic effort. Little will know the Cap’n that relaxation will be the last thing to happen in this new adventure, as evil Miller Capitan was about to ambush the marvelous Royal Fortune

The ambush started earlier with a 2-bullet attack from Miller’s sailors, which quickly was answered back from the re-energized crew with 3-bullets thanks to a collective hit effort from “Sub Gunner“ Mabry, “First Mate” Baho, “Quartermaster” Baho, and “Baseball” Holtmann.

Fast forward to the 3rd inning, the Miller sailors regrouped to launch another attack, this time of 3-bullets, that was answered back quickly with a 6-run attack from the crew thanks again to a collective effort First Mate” Baho, “Quartermaster” Baho, “Baseball” Holtmann and “Dale Plomo” Manjarrez to take a 9-5 lead.

But unfortunately, that lead will vanish in the 5th, as the Miller sailors launched a massive 8-run attack on the crew that damaged severely the ship to continue navigating. The courageous crew did strike for another 1-run bullet attack in the bottom of the 5th but will run short for a final 16-10 loss.
