Red Sox even season series with sweep today!

The Red Sox, excited to have their 12 players together, even with prominent physical issues still in effect, visited 2 Hall Of Fame captains, John Unell and John Hauf, and their 2 teams, the Clowns and Colt 45s.

The day started slow for the Red Sox as they trailed 7-0 after 2 innings with impaired Tim Kaminski late to the game and not playing.  Daryl Drake put 3 on the board with a 2 out 3 run HR in the top of the 3rd but the Clowns responded with 3 and a 10-3 lead after 3. The Red Sox would bust out the bats in the top of the 4th initiated by a lead off walk to Brian Babbitt.  Brad Parr doubled and Brad Cox hit a 3 run HR inspiring a complete rally. Brian Smallwood singled, Kyle Casper doubled him home, Joe Beasley coaxed a walk , Wayne Casper singled to load the bases followed by a run scoring hit by Impact POW Sean Harcourt. After the 1st out, Daryl Drake gave the Red Sox their 1st lead with a grand slam!  Babbitt celebrated his 2nd plate appearance of the inning with an HR and the Sox had a 13-10 lead. The Red Sox added 7 more in the top of the 4th ignited by  a leadoff hit from Cox.  Smallwood, Kyle, Beasley, Wayne, Harcourt and  Matt Casey maintained the relentless hitting with singles and Babbitt capped it off with a 2 out 2 run hit for a 20-10 lead. The Clowns battled in the last half inning but the Sox prevailed 20-14.

Game 2 had Kaminski join the Sox and hit a 2 out 2 run HR for a brief 2-0 lead. The Colts tied it in the home 1st. The Sox responded with 9 in the top of the 2nd for an 11-2 lead after 1 1/2. Smallwood started the uprising with a hit and scored on a Kyle double, followed by a run scoring double by Wayne, and harcourt's 2 run fence HR! Casey restarted the inning with a hit, Drake singled, Badger loaded the bases with a hit and Babbitt hit a fence grand slam! One more would score on Cox' run scoring FC.  The Colts put 2 up to cut the lead to 11-4 but the Sox finished their scoring with 6 in the top of the 3rd. The inning was fueled by Harcourt's run scoring double, a Casey hit for a run, a Drake run scoring hit, Babbitt's run scoring hit and capped by winning pitcher, Brad Parr's 2 out bases clearing hit at the fence.  The Colts cloed within 17-13 but the Red Sox won 2 games by scoring 37 runs in a 7 inning span over 2 games.

Notables: The Red Sox had only Casey, Harcourt, Kyle, Cox, Smallwood (until he reinjured himself) and Drake to run!

Impact POW Sean Harcourt 4-6, 5 runs, 4 RBI, 2B, HR, outstanding defense split between C and RF where he made all 3 outs at the plate in 1 inning (most impressive was bases loaded dribbler he retrieved and ran back to the plate for the force); Impact ROW Brian Babbitt 5-7, 4 runs, 8 RBI, BB, 2 HRs; Daryl Drake 5-8, 5 runs, 8 RBI, 2 HRs, strong defense in LCF with run saving plays;  Badger strong defense at SS; Brad Parr 4-6, 2 runs, 6 RBI, BB, 2B, excellent defense pitching and at 2nd; Brad Cox 2 runs, 4 RBI, HR; Smallwood 4-6, 3 runs, RBI; Jody Beasley 2 hits, BB; Wayne 4-6, 4 runs, 3 RBI, 2B, BB; Matt Casey 3-6, 4 runs, 1 RBI, tremendous defense in the OF!  The Red Sox do not win these 2 games without outstanding play by Harcourt and Casey!
