Today was a great day to have the early games. The Mariners had the late games and stayed dry until the 3rd or 4th inning when the rains came. The Bats opened with two. The Mariners scored one on a Tim Jamieson double and Ryan Driggers single. In the third, 8 singles scored 4 runs for the Mariners. A two run Troy Steele homer finished up another 4 spot for the Mariners in the 4th to give us a comfortable 9-2 lead on the way to an 11-6 win over the Bats.

Game two was against the resurgent Rangers, winner of 7 straight. A two run homer by Ryan Driggers gave the Mariners a 2-1 lead after 1. Four singles and a walk netted 3 more in the second. The Rangers exploded for 5 in the fourth and the Mariners tied it at 7. The Rangers scored 3 in the 5th and with time running out, Jon Simonson slammed a bases loaded single to net two and Tommy Baer added an RBI single to tie it at 10, heading to extra innings. With the rain increasing and everyone totally soaked, the pitchers bore down and produced two scoreless innings of one pitch. The top of the Ranger line up produced two runs in extra inning number 3. The Mariners had the bottom of the line up coming to bat. Eddie Tann’s second hit of the game had two on and two out for Tim Jamieson. See ya! Tim planted a beauty of a 3 run walk off HR over the left center field fence for a dramatic 13-12 victory for the Mariners over the Rangers. It was the first sweep for the Mariners since opening day, February 28.

Tim Jamieson was our IPOW going 6-7, 3 doubles, the game winning HR, walk, SF, 4 runs, 8 RBI’s. Ben Collincini was 5-7, Tommy Baer 4-7, Ro Gulhati 4-8 and Ryan Driggers, Jon Simonson and Robbie Franklin all 3-6.
