“Some bats keep flying in a light drizzle, but they take shelter when there's serious rain. ... Bats used about twice as much energy when they were wet as when they were dry” - Helen Fields. It definitely rained on the Bats parade this weekend...but that is okay! We are going to come back stronger and better than ever to wrap up the regular season.

Some Highlights from this Weekend:

-Opening Game 1 by Dylan Buhrow on 2nd, getting swapped out by Dalton with a double, who was then swapped out by Ariel for another double.

-Dougie Fresh Kramer also got two doubles this game, which doubled his total amount of doubles on the season. (I am going to try to set a record for how many times the word double(s) is said in a single Captain’s Corner article.

-Steve Enda also got another RBI double in this game!

-Game 2...Dylan Buhrow started things off with a double, and just a few short batters later David Buhrow comes up with his 3rd HR of the season and a 3RBI homer at that!

-Jim Finley also joined the doubles gang in Game 2 and doubled his total doubles on the season as well!

No matter the outcome...we were just a bunch of kids that got to play the game they love in the rain...which is still a pretty cool thing! Shoutout to turf fields!

Impact Bats of the Week:

  1. David Buhrow 4-6 1HR 4RBI and 2Rs. Solid left field in the monsoon.

  2. Dylan Buhrow 3-5 1SAC 1-2B 1RBI and 2Rs.

  3. Doug Kramer 4-6 2 doubles with 1RBI and 1R. Tip my bat cowl to him and his pitching performance in those stormy conditions.

By the way...double was used in some way, shape, or form 14 times in this article! I challenge any captain to beat that new high score.
