GAME 1: CARGO’S 66ERS  AT TIN CAPS

Lost 10 - 4

Well the hopes of the 1st week being just a speed bump were dashed even before the game started when the reigning Player of the Week was late & had to be bumped down to the 11 hole.  Things were looking up when with players out of position the Tin Caps only scored 1 run in the top half & it was quickly answered by the Dark Side but in the 3rd inning our friend the error showed back up.  After giving up a 7 spot in the 3rdand a pitching change the troopers were able to keep the Tin Caps to respectable 10 runs for the game but the sad thing is that the bats once again worked about as good as a strom troopers aim.  The outfield lead by Dalton & Heath once again played steller defense & almost bought us another inning but unfortunately you don’t hit with your gloves.

GAME 2: AGUILA’S AT CARGO’S 66ers

Lost 11-5

After the long trek to Endor to face the Aguilas the 66ers were ready to break the losing streak that has hampered out short season so far.  The Empire’s #1 bounty had other things in mind.  After a certain 7 foot shortstop hit a 2 run bomb we found ourselves in the familiar situation of playing from behind.  After Dalton lead off with a double & was quickly knocked in by the Tony Gwyn of the Dark Side (Arevelo) we were tied going into the 2nd.  Then once again in the next few innings the dirty birds plated several more runs to take what ended up being a commanding 8 – 1 lead.  We started a comeback with our Player of the Week Dalton Fallow hitting the 1st of his 2 triples and Carlos waking up after that strike out (don’t worry nobody was looking) to hit a bomb that got us back into the game.  Unfortunately not even Dalton’s prowess at the plate & Heath channeling his inner Benny Rodriguez in the Outfield could help us overcome the issues we are having at the plate.

But do not be worried folks b/c we are getting our power convertors switched out & charging up our blasters & I have a good feeling that those pesky jedi will be eliminated as per the plan and we we will EXECUTE ORDER 66!
