Trash Pandas Scavenge a Win

Week 3: el capitan made a serious miscalculation this week and forgot to have his team set the clocks forward 2 hours—being nocturnal creatures, the early games were not good to us.

First up were the game and motivated CarGo 66ers, looking for their first win of the season; and we didn’t want it to be against us.  This one was a claw-biter from the start, thank goodness we were the home team in this one to maximize our chances.  The TPs slowly built a 4-0 lead after 3 full innings with some scattered extra base hits and aggressive running, only to see the tenacious 66ers scratch back with 3 of their own in the top of the fourth.  Raccoons plated the winning run in the fifth after hot swinger Dan Mele tripled (his first of 2 or 3 on the day depending on who you ask) and IPOW nominee Jacob Forniglia SACed him home.  Final score 7-5 Trash Pandas in a squeaker! Hats off to the 66ers for a good fight.

Next up, traveling to the Cannon Ballers of Dyer/Haas/Alford fame.  We knew we were in for another scrap in this one as their weapons are many.

Team Trash got off to a faster start in this one, cruising to a 5-0 lead in the first inning before perennial All Star Ryan Alford gunned down speedster Jacob F after a little run-down excitement.  The groggy raccoons went meekly in the top of the second and the Ballers punched us in the snout in their second frame, scoring 5 of their own and evening it up after two. The TPs answered with 4 pushing the lead to 9-5, including a Joshua F triple, Chenz 299 foot SAC, singles by Alexander and Glosier, another double by Danger Dan, and consecutive singles by Jacob F and cousin Kennin Doyle (best hair in the Lynn Division).  But that was about it for the cute little furry guys as the offense came up short and the onslaught by the fiery Cannon Ballers would not stop... final score 14-11 Ballers.
