BLUE ROCKS 15                 TIBURONES 7

The Blue Rocks opened the weekend taking on Alfredo Sardi’s Tiburones in an 8AM match up.  After laying an egg in the 1st two innings, Seth Pepkin started the 3rd inning off with a single, followed by a walk by Grayson Vick and another single by Wayne Casper to bring us back to the top of the lineup. Matt Rakofsky and Peter Hogan had RBI singles before Ryan Richardson left the park with a 3-run bomb capping the 6-run inning. The Rocks added 4 more in the 5th with a Rakofsky triple, a Pete Hogan walk and a SAC Fly from Richardson. A walk from Mark Phares, a SAC Fly from Banta and timely back-to-back 2-out RBI singles from Kyle Casper and Doc Levy were crucial. With the clock ticking down, the Tiburones were trying to get 3 quick outs to play another inning, but their effort was futile as Wayne Casper started things with a walk, followed by a single from Rakofsky, a Pete Hogan walk and another single from Ryan Richardson set the stage as Dennis Brumett strolled to the plate. As the clock ticked under 10 seconds Dennis ended all hopes for Sardi’s crew with a walk-off Grand Slam as the clock hit zero.
