Cannon Ballers break out the BROOMS in Week 4

Game 1 (#powerbottom)

CANNON BALLERS - 14

Legends - 3

The Cannon Ballers came out swinging (literally) against the scrappy Legends, in what was probably the Ballers best all-around performance of the season. After a quiet first AB, the Ballers erupted in the top of the 2nd inning with 8 runs! Captain Keg Dyer started the at bat with a solid one bagger, and the next five out of six Ballers had singles as well. The inning was capped off by a two-run dinger by Big Lee McDonald. It was almost a carbon copy in the top of the 3rd, as the middle to bottom half of the Ballers lineup showed up and showed out at the plate. The Ballers put up another 6 runs to seal the game. Ace Lee McDonald pitched a great game, holding a talented Legends squad to 3 runs. Shout out to Chris Stutz of the Legends on his two outstanding diving catches in LCF.

Dylan Buhrow – 3 for 4, double, 3 RBIs, 2 runs scored

Brian Conn – 3 for 3, 2 RBIs, 2 runs scored (great play at catcher as well)

Lee McDonald – 2 for 3, HR, BB, 4 RBIs, 1 run scored

Brandon ‘C Bass’ Alford – 2 for 3, 2 RBIs, 2 runs scored (solid D in RF with his 38-inch glove)

Daniel Buhrow – 2 for 3, 1 RBI, 2 runs scored

Game 2

CANNON BALLERS - 9

Monarchs - 8

The Cannon Ballers faced off against the Monarchs in game two, captained by the crafty and crusty Abbey Garber. This was a tight and well-played game, with solid pitching by Ace Lee McDonald and Shalom veteran Jorts Burke. The Ballers put up two in their first at bat, led by Cuddles with a base on balls, and then back-to-back RBI doubles by Big Lee McDonald and bacon legend Ryno Alford. Another two runs crossed the plate in the Baller’s bottom of the 3rd, thanks to a two-run fence bomb by Big Lee McDonald. Hall of Fame Bull Gumaro Castillo and the quietest Buhrow (Daniel), combined to drive in another two runs in the bottom of the 4th, with an RBI single and a sac fly. The Ballers found themselves down 6-8 heading into the bottom of the 5th with the clock ticking. C Bass led off with a huge single, followed by singles from Dylan and Cuddles (RBI). Big Lee McDonald stepped into the box and promptly hit a two-run double to put the Ballers up 9-8 heading into the top of the 6th. The Monarchs would not go down without a fight. They loaded the bases with no outs, but the Baller defense and Ace Lee McDonald stepped up and held them scoreless to win this contest.

Lee McDonald – 3 for 3, HR, double, 4 RBIs, 2 runs scored

Gumaro Castillo – 2 for 2, double, RBI
