Monarchs walk it off

After getting burned by Dlott's Dragons, the Monarchs knew they needed a win to keep their dim playoff hopes alive.  After falling behind the Aguilas, 11-0, victory seemed unlikely, but then the Monarchs sent 15 men to the plate in the second inning, scoring 10 of them to trail by only a run.  Max Henry and Ryan Driggers went back to back to open the lead back to 14-10, but the top of the Monarchs' order tallied four in the fourth to tie the game.  Each team scored once in the fifth to make it 15 all going to the sixth.  Rodriguez's boys got one in the top, so the Monarchs needed one to tie and two to win:  Ritter walk, Lassen single, Wu single, Allsbrook double = ballgame!  Monarchs 17, Aguilas 16.

Impact players:

John Burke - reminded me why I drafted a pitcher

Greg Ritter 4-6, BB, 2b, 3 runs, started game tying and game winning rallies, excellent play at SS

Tim Barnes birthday boy goes 2-5 with a run and a RBI

plus some nice defense by the Brians - Allsbrook and Strull
