Game 1

CANNON BALLERS - 13

Tiburones - 23

The Cannon Ballers showed up to the park and ran smack into a sharknado in game one. Sardi and his Tiburones took advantage of the wind tunnel that is field 1, and it was bombs away. The Ballers started strong, scoring four in their first at bat, with the damage being done by Ryno and John Simo Simonson. Ryno drove in Big Lee McDonald (single) with a two-run fence blast. Then the hero of last week, Simo, decided he couldn’t be outdone by the bacon man, so he blasted a homer himself to drive in Baby J (single). The Baller bats went quiet until the 4th, when Baby J started the scoring with a solo bomb. Daniel Buhrow capped the scoring with a clutch RBI single. All the while, the Tiburone offense was swimming along with multiple hits and runs scored. The Ballers found themselves down 8-13 entering the 5th with the clock ticking. What happened next had to have made Sardi think that he was gonna need a bigger boat. Big Lee led off with a hit (on a gimpy knee) and was driven in by Baby J. Simo then hammered his second homer of the game, scoring Baby J. Captain Keg singled, and up stepped Sean Power Bottom Brinkman. Brink proceeded to crush a two-run homer to center field and the Tiburone lead was down to one. The inning ended with just enough time for the Ballers to get another shot on offense. The prospect of another possible walk-off came to a quick end, as the Tiburones took their final bite out of the Ballers by putting up a 10 spot to seal the win.

John ‘Simo’ Simonson – 3 for 3, 2 homers, double, 3 RBIs, 3 runs scored

David ‘Baby J’ Buhrow – 3 for 3, 2 RBIs, 2 runs scored

Sean Brinkman – 2 for 3, HR, 2 RBIS, 2 runs scored

Brian Conn – 2 for 2, BB

Game 2

Cannon Ballers - 10

Corny Dogs- 5

The Cannon Ballers looked to bounce back in game two, by rolling down the Midway and laying the mustard on the Corny Dogs. Like game one, the Ballers came out of the fryer hot and put up four runs in their first at bat. Singles by Young Dylan Buhrow, Old Cuddles, Ryno (RBI), and Baby J (RBI), combined with a sac fly by Simo staked the Ballers to a 4 run lead. The Ballers plated one in the 2nd with Ryno driving in Cuddles for the RBI. Brian Scrappy Conn led off the 3rd with a clutch single (his third of the day!), followed by a single from Diving Dylan Buhrow (ouch). Cuddles then drove them both in with a cue ball triple down the right field chalk. Achy Lee McDonald then walked, and Simo came up with a two RBI single to finish the scoring in the 3rd. Meanwhile, Ace Lee McDonald battered and breaded the Corny Dog hitters, in a stiff wind and on a gimpy knee.

Cuddles – 3 for 3, triple, BB, 2 RBIs, 4 runs scored

Dylan Buhrow - 2 for 3, BB, 2 runs scored

Ryno – 2 for 2, BB (2), 3 RBIs, run scored

BALLER WEEK 7 IPOWS

Baby J Buhrow – 4 for 7, HR, 3 singles, 4 RBIs, 4 runs scored

Steve Cuddles Haas – 4 for 6, triple, BB, 2 RBIs, 4 runs scored

Brian Scrappy Conn – 3 for 5, 3 singles, BB, run scored

Honorable Mention: Sean Power Bottom Brinkman – Big two run HOMER (yes, it cleared the outfield fence) to make the Tiburones nervous in game one!!!
