The Red Sox played an early game hosting Abbey Garber's Grasshoppers in a cool day with a north wind on field 1.  It would be a tight game throughout the 7 innings as the Ghoppers scored 2 in the top of the 1st But the Sox answered with 4 in the home 1st  started by singles from Greg Ritter, Justin Reed, Joey Welter, then an RBI FC from ARIEL RODRIGUEZ, A SF FROM CLINT HATHCOCK, a 2 out run scoring 3B by Dan Mele and a run scoring hit from Griffin Phares.  Neither team scored in the 2nd, but the visitors scored 1 in the 3rd.  The Sox answered with a run on a hit from Mele in the bottom of the 4th for a 5-3 lead. . The Hoppers tied it in the 5th on a  single evading the outfielders that would tie the game at 5.  Neither team scored in the 6th and the Sox retired the Hoppers in the top of the 7th giving themselves a chance for a walk off win.  Rodriguez singled to start the inning and after a FC, Mele singled the winning run to 2nd. After the 2nd out, Captain Casper would have his only good at bat of the day with a run scoring single to left for the win.

After an hour break the Sox travelled to field 2 to play Lee McDonald's Hops. The Sox scored 5 in the 1st featuring a Ritter 2B, Reed 1B, Welter 2 run 3B, Rodriguez run scoring 3B, a Hathcock run scoring hit and capped by a G Phares run scoring hit. The Hops were shutout in their 1st. The Sox added 3 in the 2nd when Carlos Lopez singled w 1 out, Reed hit a 2 run HR, and Rodriguez doubled in Welter. The Hops scored 1 in the 2nd. Neither team scored in the 3rd or 4th innings.  The Sox added 1 in the 5th on a run scoring 2B by Rodriguez and the Sox had 1 more in the 7th on a Welter run scoring hit w 2 outs. The Sox were only sloppy  in the bottom of the 7th yielding 3 unearned runs but won 10-4  earning their playoff spot!
