The Saints were entering their final four games facing three teams with losing records and needing to win at least three games to keep the playoff hopes alive.  This week it was the Royals and Ducks and both were battles.

Game 1: Saints 15 Royals 14

The Saints offense came out ready to play bright and early at 8am, scoring six in the first at bat to take a quick lead.  We would add on four more in the second to build what seemed to be a comfortable lead before the Royals stormed back.  A huge three-run bomb by POW candidate Ben Collincini capped the scoring in the second.  We headed into the fourth inning down 12-10 when Brad Parr smoked a huge two-out two run single to knot it at 12.  The Royals came up with 9 minutes remaining and as the home team, bringing the top of their order to the plate.  We held them to two runs and carried the game into another inning.  In the top of the fifth, the bottom of the order turned the party on.  After a quick out, Wilfredo Nieves started things with a single followed by a couple of walks and a single by Cesar Garza.  An RBI single by "All Day" Ray Hebbler hit an RBI single to tie the game.  Miguel Duron smoked what would end up being the game winning single to left field.  The defense shut the door in the bottom of the inning for the huge comeback win.

Game 2: Saints 10 Ducks 19

The ghosts of Field 3 are very real this season with our team, so we tried to right the ship with a big 5 run inning in the first.  It was a 12-10 game going into the final inning where the Ducks exploded for a big 7 run inning and putting us away.  Tough loss again on field 3.  Despite the loss, Collincini continued his red hot hitting with another dinger and Brad Parr had a bomb of his own.  The two accounted for seven of the Saints ten runs in the game.

Heading into the final week of the season with games against the Hops and Pirates, the team faces two must win games and hope for help to make it in the playoffs.  Otherwise, it is to the mini's we go.
