45's manage tough split- great comeback in 2nd game

Game 1: 

 

Colts 45s vs Strom Chasers:

The 45s continued their path of splitting games each week, but this week were striving for a 2 game weekend sweep and gain some ground in the division for one of the playoffs berths and no mini bracket. The Storm Chasers started off strong in the first inning scoring 5 runs, only for the 45s to rebound of their own and score 4 runs thanks to Andy H, sub Matt Wray, David A and Freddy B. the game would slow down with Storms Chasers scoring 5 total runs thru 3 inning, to the 45s playing catchup and scoring 5 of their own to make the game close 10-9 going into 5th and final inning. The Strom Chasers gave a powerful storm of a inning of 7 runs, for only the Colts to dud out and score only 1 run to follow it up with  3 quick and easy outs to end the game of 17-11

 

Players of the game: 

Heath Jones: 2-2 with 1 HR,  4 RbI

Andy Holscheer: 2-3 with 1 double, 1 triple, 1 RBI

Matt Sorge: 2-3 with 2 singles, 2 RBI

 

Game 2 

Colt 45s vs Dragons

coming off a tough loss to the Storm Chasers, the Colts knew they needed a win to keep up in the standing for a playoff ticket. The Dragons started off the game by scoring 5 runs of their own. leading off for the .45s was Andy H who started off with a double to have Matt Wray follow up with a single + RBI and Heath single RBI to make it 5-2 in the first inning. The Colts would hold off the Dragons to two scoreless innings and add 3 total runs of their own to make the game 5-5 going into the 4th inning. the Dagons came on strong late in the game by adding 6 runs in the 4th inning, only to have the .45s add another 2 runs of their own to make the score going into the 5th inning down by four 7-11. In a game that felt like it was back and forth, the .45s pulled out the strong top of 7th to score 7 runs &hold off the Dragons who only scored 3 to end the game 15-14. >> Great battle by both teams I must say!!
