Game 1

SC – 7

Tacos – 4

DEFENSE, DEFENSE and MORE DEFENSE behind great pitching was the name of the game Sunday. If anyone said they would only score 10 runs in 2 games in the minis no one would give them much of a chance to win, but that is all WE needed to win 2 this last Sunday. With speed in the outfield all around, stellar infield play all around and one of the best pitchers of all time in Shalom on the mound we put pressure on these teams to score and they struggled as WE only gave up 6 runs in 2 games Sunday.

The top of the lineup would go down quietly in the 1st for both teams, but the middle of the lineup came through for the Storm Chasers in the bottom of the 2nd plating 3 runs to take a 3-0 lead after 2 as the Tacos would not score their first run until the 4th inning. The only issue with that is the Storm Chasers middle of the lineup delivered again scoring 4 runs in the bottom of the 4th making it 7-1 after 4. The Tacos would put up 3 in the 6th but would go down quietly in the 7th to end the game 7-4 Storm Chasers!

Offensive highlights for the game:

Batters 7-12 in our lineup as the accounted for 6 of the 7 runs scored and all 7 RBI’s carrying the top of the lineup in this game!!!

Game 2

SC – 3

Royals – 2

YOU ARE READING that score right! DEFENSE, DEFENSE and MORE DEFENSE behind great pitching was the name of the game Sunday again and even more so in game 2! The Royals were shutout through 6 innings and only scratched out 2 in the 7th to fall short 3-2. The Storm Chasers middle of the lineup once again stepped up big in this game and really hit much better than the score indicated as we left way too many runners on base, but it showed the bats were heating up, just had to fix timing going forward. These sticks are ready for this coming Sunday for sure!

3 callouts on HUGE Defensive plays that helped change the outlook of this game at critical times. First was a double play turned by Peasey and Super Sub Jake White that showed off Jake’s cannon of an arm to get us out of an inning right in time. Second was Ethan Barath robbing T-Mart of a sure fire run scoring hit in the 7th with a full speed running catch in right field. Finally, hats off to a serious heads up play by Taylor Guzman for faking out Ryan Richardson making him think he was throwing to first and instead catching him in a pickle between 2nd and 3rd that eventually led to him being out.

This team was built to hold teams in pressure situations and make the big plays, WE DID THAT SUNDAY!!! The last inning up 3 runs in both situations I told the team, “We were built for this moment, let’s go do what we know we can do!” That is what we did, and we are ready for any opponent ahead of us. LET’S GO STORM CHASERS!!!

Offensive highlights for the game:

Batters 4-9 in the lineup as they accounted for all 3 runs scored and all 3 RBI’s!!!
