Bulls vs Blue Rocks, 13-12

The Bulls came into this weekend hungry for a sweep but knowing this game was going to be tough against HoF Banta. We came out early with some smooth hitting at the top and hit 4 doubles to bring in 3 in the first and then shut down the Blue Rocks for a quick 3-0 lead.

After that we ran into the Banta buzzsaw as we only had 3 hits and 0 runs over the next three innings while the Blue Rocks put up 10 unanswered runs. The Bulls started seeing red after that stretch and the middle and bottom went hot with Burden getting a double, Ben on BB, Jonah "the single machine" Taylor with a 1b, and then Louis "the big stick" Zwick burned them with a two bagger and RBI to get the Bulls going strong, we finished the inning with a 2 RBI double from Scott Lawrence to get the Bulls 4 runs in the 5th. Ok feeling a little juice the Bulls go shut down the Blue Rocks and Brumley got us started in the Top of 6 with a solo shot, Burden with another huge double, JC with a double, and Ben Rakofky with a huge RBI single to bring the Bulls to a narrow 11-10 lead.

Bottom 6th the Blue Rocks came out hot loading up the basis, but the Bulls held them to a single run after clutch leadership from Cesario with a defensive adjustment that led to a pop fly double play where he threw out the go ahead run at home. Brumley ever the Picasso gets out of the jam only giving up the 1 run.

Here we go extra innings...one pitch and we are at the top and ready to rock. Matt Rakofsky leads us off with a BB, and Scott "CDN" Lawrence does his best Crash Davis impression and crushes a 2 run bomb to put us up 13-11. The Blue Rocks again get momentum and put runners in scoring position, but the Bulls shut it down behind Brumley and get out of another jam only giving up 1. Bulls win 13-12.

66ers at the Bulls, Bulls win 11-3

Coming off the comeback win high the Bulls went out early and force choked the 66ers for the first 3 innings while putting up 6. This game was all about the top and bottom thirds of the lineup putting in work and getting people on bases and Cesario and JC hitting bombs.

Every inning the Bulls put up runs and we kept up the tough defense only giving up 3 runs the rest of the game. Lewis 'big stick' Zwick hits another double that brought in 2 more runs.

In the end Cesario hit 3 bombs, Zwick went 3-3 with a double and 2 singles and between them accounted for 10 RBIs.

The Bulls on Parade:

Chris Cesario 5-7, 3 HR's, 2 doubles, 8 RBIs

Monte Slaver 3-5, 1 double, 2 singles, 1 RBI

Lewis Zwick 4-6, 2 doubles, 2 singles, 4 RBIs
