Early games prove to set the Storm Chasers off on a slow start and it simply took too long to pick it back up as we drop 2 in Week 2!

Game 1

SC – 1

Aviator’s – 16

This is a game the Storm Chasers will look to put behind them and forget as we only mustered up 3 hits and 3 walks to scratch across 1 run while making a handful of errors through the first 2 innings to put ourselves way behind. Kudos to the Aviator’s as they hit the ball hard and with a lot of speed in the top of that lineup, they pushed it on the base paths to run rule us in 4. The Storm Chasers looked to bounce back in Game 2 like the week before to find our rhythm.

Offensive highlights for the game:

With 15 total At Bats and 1 run scored no real offensive highlights to share for this game.

Game 2

SC – 8

Cervesa’s – 13

Unfortunately, the luck of the Storm did not change much in Game 2. We started off a little better when M Babbs got the team going with a double followed up by an inside the park HR by Mr. Ortega himself to put the Storm Chasers up 2 after the top of the first. However, the Cervesa’s ordered a round for 4 in the bottom of the inning to go up 4-2 after 1.

The Storm Chasers would look to the middle to the bottom of the lineup to step up and they did scoring 3 runs by Will Ryan, Wilfredo Nieves and Super Sub Ethan Barath on a flurry of singles before their captain stopped the momentum with an inning ending double play. The Cervesa’s would order up 3 more as well in the bottom of the inning to maintain a 7-5 lead. The Storm Chaser’s would scratch out 1 more run on a Solo HR by Super Sub Matt Parker and hold the Cervesa’s scoreless in the 3rd inning to make the score 7-6 after 3.

Unfortunately, the Storm Chasers bats went cold only scoring 2 runs over the next 3 innings while the Cervesa’s put up another 6 runs to win this one 13-8. The Storm Chasers will lick their wounds and get ready to come back with a vengeance next week seeking to pull our record back to .500!
