Solid Split on the Day

Bulls 17 Leones 5

This game started off as a battle of defenses with the two pitchers keeping a lid on everything with the Bulls down 1-0 through 4....this early inning struggle has become just a skosh worrisome for Captain Burks.

Well the Bulls then busted out of the coral and scored 4 in the fifth, 5 in the sixth, and another 8 in the seventh. This run all started in the fifth with the middle of the lineup pulling the team on their back and firing 3 hard singles to load the basis, Garber getting a FC RBI, Ben BB, then Lewis "Big Stick" Zwick hammers a 2 RBI single, and Matt knocked in his brother for our 4th run of the inning.

The Bulls D stood firm and hardly took a lick, the bats stayed hot with a few singles form Cesario, Brumley, Osgood doubled, a sac by Slaver, and 5 straight single by the middle bottom to hang 5 runs in the sixth.

Again the defense stayed strong only allowing 1 run from the Leones, and the hats came completely off the bats when we had 9 straight Bulls get on base, with the cherry on top being a 2 run HR by Cesario.

The defense then again held it together only giving up a couple runs to bring home the 17-5 win!

Storm Chasers 16 - Bulls 5

The begining of this game felt like it needed Skip to say, "You guys. You lollygag the ball around the infield. You lollygag your way down to first. You lollygag in and out of the dugout. You know what that makes you? Lollygaggers!"

It was a rough start as the Storm Chasers are equally as good at wrangling Bulls as they are at Storms and had us pinned down 9-0 after the third.

Per the Bulls habit we finally got something on the board in the fourth Brumley kicking things off with a double, and then singles from Osgood, Slaver, Burks to get 2 runs on the board.

The Strom Chasers answered with 2 of their own, then another 2 in the sixth and with our backs firmly against the wall we came out swinging with Cesario hitting an absolute piss missile homerun that got maybe 20' high and hit the net still gaining steam. A few more hard hits by Brumley, Osgood, Slaver and Burks gave 3 runs on the inning and having to take an intentional third out to avoid the clock stopping the game.

It was all for naught as the Storm Chasers put up 3 more in the 7th, and then Babb does what all great pitchers do and shut us down 3 up 3 down.

Bulls On Parade this Week are:

Brumley - 5-6, 4 singles, 1 double, BB, 4R with great pitching and leadership in the dugout

Slaver - 4-6, 4 singles, Sac Fly, 2 R, 4 RBI's

Zwick - 3-7, 3 singles, 2 RBI's, and a classic calm cool presence to the Bulls that helps everyone stay level and concentrating on the moment
