Game 1 vs Renegades

Their left-center fielder…he’s pretty good.

Offense wouldn’t kick off for the Bratmen until the 2nd inning with a KROD RBI double bringing in Clint Hathcock. 3rd inning would see a 3RBI bomb from Luke Morgan. 4th inning was doubles city with back-to-back-to-back doubles from Abel Chavez, second for KROD, and Jim Finley. The doubles parade was topped off with an RBI triple from Michael Bourque.

In the 6th, KROD, who was perfect in the game, would be brought home with a key SAC from Bourque to tie up the game. Defense held and we went into one-pitch extras. Both teams at or near the tops of their line-ups, the Bratmen would come up just short as the Renegades super sub, Nance, would hit the walk-off single to make the final score Brats 9 - Renegades 10.

Game 2 vs Red Sox

The cross wind on Field 2 really provided a challenge for pitching on both sides, but that did not stop the run production for either team. Red Sox came out ready to play and capitalizing early. The Bratmen would be productive early as well with a lead-off walk from Dylan Buhrow, single from Reese Leonard, walk by Dougie Kramer, and back-to-back 2RBI doubles from David Buhrow and Clint Hathcock. 3 more walks in the 2nd would bring up a bases clearing double from Luke Morgan and an RBI single from Dougie Kramer.

Sticks would go quiet in the 3rd and 4th for the Bratmen, but not for the Red Sox. The writer of this column would like to use this time to bring up that Dylan Buhrow had to learn fluid dynamics after the game because he had to drink from the boot of shame. He can tell you why if you ask him. Red Sox would take an 11-8 lead going into the bottom of the 6th.

Bottom the the 6th, Bratmen would lead off with a double from Luke Morgan, who would again be brought home by an RBI single from Dougie, 11-9, and a big single from David Buhrow. Two men on, no outs, Clint Hathcock steps up and crushes a 2RBI triple to tie the game up, 11-11! Abel Chavez would also step up in a big way and launch an RBI double to put the Bratmen in the lead. With 0 outs, Bratmen just needed to continue hitting till time expired. Bratmen win game 2, 12-11.

Winners of the Brat :hotdog: Eating Competition:

  • 1. David Buhrow 4-5 1BB 1-2B 2RBI 2Rs shut down right field defense taking away big hits that way.

2. Clint Hathcock 2-6 1-2B 1-3B 4RBI and 2Rs. We won’t talk about the first game but 2nd game against Red Sox, that triple was a 2RBI triple that tied up the game in the final minute which paved the way for an Abel Chavez RBI double to win. CLUTCH MOMENT IN A BIG SPOT!

3. Karlos KROD Rodriguez 4-6 2-2B 2RBI 2R and nothing past him taking on 2nd base full time!
