Padres take 2, week 3!
Game 1 vs Aguilas
Hard fought battle against the big bats of Aguilas. Big bomb by Max Henry to give the Aguilas a 3-0 lead. But Padres know they can swing too which led to 2 runs of there own off sac fly of Scott Lawrence after a nice triple by lead off Ryan Prim. Donald Prim finally showed up for the game and drop a solo shot in the first. The next few innings went back and forth with a couple of runs here and there by both teams. But once the top of the 4th hit for the Padres is when Hap Burden lead off with an in the park home run and the flood gates opened. Singles by Mike Bourque, Omar Gonzalez, and Robert Santiago then a walk by Brian Alvara. Set the table for Captain Brooke Prim to hit a solid triple to clear the bases. Ryan Prim hit a sac fly to score Brooke for the first out of the inning. Followed by a double and single by Scott Lawrence and then an absolute Bomb by Rookie phenom Joey Welter put the game out of reach ultimately ending the game 18-10. Phenomenal defense and amazing hitting lead to another quality win against a very tough Aguilas team.
Padres Wins 18-10
Highlights of the game - all three Prims hit triples! #family
Padres of game 1
Doug Kramer - 4/3, 2 singles, double and 1 RBI. Including locked down 1B!
Hap Burden - 4/3, a triple shy of the cycle! Timely hitting.
Game 2 vs TinCaps
With the wind blowing in it was a tough day to get runs on the board for either team. After going down 3-1 after a nice three run bombs into the wind off the big bat of Brian Babbitt. The Padres never gave up and fought throughout the entire game. Backed by some incredibly smooth double plays by Ronny Mendoza, Brooke Prim and Joey Welton helped the Padres stay in it. I’m pretty sure the Padres didn’t have a single error. Huge props to the entire team never letting up. It came down to the bottom of the 6th down 5-2 and time running out. Brian Alvara started it off with a nice line drive single. With one out and the top of the lineup led by Ryan Prim with a solid line drive of his own. Followed with a walk to Scott Lawrence and a pop up by Donald Prim with bases loaded to give the TinCaps 2 big outs. Joey Welter picked up the team in a big way hitting a line drive to score two and now down 4-5. Doug Kramer got on base due to an error which tied the game 5-5. Then Ronny Mendoza hit a huge line drive to score Joey Welter to go up 6-5. The defense then stepped up again and went 3 up 3 down to snag the tough win to help the Padres sweep again week 3!
Padres Win 6-5
Padres of Game 2
Joey Welter - 2/3 2 big hits to drive in runs when needed. Also nice double play made in the infield to help defense.
Ronny Mendoza - 2/3 another 2 big hits and amazing defense at SS making plays look too smooth!
Brian Alvara - 1/2 great single in the 6th to kick start our offense! Great day hitting. Glad to have him back after having to miss last week.

Evan Berkowitz earned MVP honors by smashing FIVE homers in two games. It was an awesome day and put a bow on a spectacular season. Congrats to both teams on great seasons and for making it to the final weekend of the season.
The Weinfeld Division All Stars earned a one-run victory in extra innings. Andy Williams' RBI triple in the top of the eighth gave his team a one run lead. A long fly out to LCF ended the game and a victory for the Weinfeld All Stars with Skipper Bob in the dugout.
