By JJ Eusay 06/03/2022, 9:30am CDT

Stick around this Sunday after the mini playoff games for the 2022 Silver Slugger vs Gold Glove game.  The Silver Sluggers won last year's game in walk off fashion, so the Gold Glovers will be looking for payback.  It should be a fun time and we hope to pack the stands!  See you Sunday and good luck to all playing in the mini's!

Monster Tacos Get Back In The Game

By Keg Dryer 03/08/2022, 8:00pm CST

Game 1              Tacos at Lug Nuts           11-4

The Tacos had their sights set high winning their first game last week after losing the first three.  The game stayed close through the first three innings with just a few runs on either side while “Ace” Ben Rakosky kept a hit heavy Lug Nuts in check.  The Tacos woke up in inning 4 putting up 5 with the bottom of line-up Ray Darragh and Doug Hogan getting on for the top and then the walks poured in as the Lug Nuts couldn’t find a strike and letting the Tacos go through the lineup.  Matty Rakofsky and Spencer Manz had back to back triples in the 5th to put the Tacos up by 8 and then it was up to Ben Rakofsky to close the game.  The Lug Nuts get 1 back and then load the bases for rookie Charlie Pruett who might have hit one of the hardest oppo liners to the 1-2 hole that Coach Taco had seen….wait he barely saw it as it somehow it ended up in his glove after bending around 1st base runner.  How it didn’t hit the runner I’ll never know, but it finished the game and the Tacos got their second win in a row.

Game 2              Taco at Rubber Ducks    23-2

The Tacos were feeling “Super”, but very cautious going into field 1 where the wind was blowing out 15-20 MPH and had lost a game in same conditions.  The Tacos put up HR after HR by Spencer Manz, Ben Enlow and rookie Blake Miller to get 6 up on the board 1st inning.  The 2nd inning was no different with hit after hit from Ray Darragh, Matty Rakofsky, Jason Chapman and Ben Rakofsky putting up another 6.  The Rubber Ducks tried to put up rallies, but hard hit balls seemed to land in Taco shells.  The 3rd inning cheesed the deal as the Monster Tacos scored 11 with Ben Enlow hitting a Grand Slam and everyone contributing.
