Astros Flying Under the Radar

I feel like if I don't post an article that no one will notice the win streak.  However, in true Enlow fashion, I will speak about the streak to put it out in the universe.  Is it coincidence that we lose our third base coach for three weeks and post a 3-1 record?  We tried to take a collection to pay for him another week on the beach, but it was too late.

Week two started out with another tough loss at the hands of the mighty Ducks who recorded their first victory and to this point their only victory.  Sloppy defense gave Burke little support along with a stagnant offense.  In game two we faced an undefeated Bats squad playing without their superstar Dalton Fallaw.  John Burke worked his magic, keeping Buhrow's squad off balance the whole game only scoring 3 runs.  The offense finally showed the promise that was expected this season, scoring a season-high 21 runs.  A six-run inning followed by an eight-run inning propelled us to victory number one on the season.  If the captain could hit the ball like he does the dugout opening with his throws from short, we would be undefeated.

In week 3, we started with Cova's Marauders who were short-handed.  We took advantage of many free passes and timely hits to hit match the season high on the very same field of 21 runs.  The captain appeared to relocate his stroke, while Enlow and Reed slowly showed signs of life in their bats.

In game two, we traveled next door to Field 3 to host the Grasshoppers.  Reed had his coming out party and blasted his first homer of the season which helped us jump out to an early lead.  The captain found fools gold in game 1, following that up with a solid 0-3 performance against the Hopper's ace Greenberg.  However, Enlow carried him all day picking up all the LOB's hanging out there.  Big Ben broke the seal and hit his first bomb of the season in his last at bat to put the game on ice.  Reed and Enlow were both 4 for 4, but the story of the day was Turbo Golden.  The second lead-off hitter was on base EVERY TIME on the day and sparked several rallies, earning the impact player of the week nomination.  The victory made it three in a row leading into the final weekend of non-divisional games and tough matchups with the Pigs and Rangers in Week 4.  Can we keep it rolling?  Will the captain hit his weight (which obviously has increased in the offseason)?  Let's play ball!
