Padres Vs. Rodriguez’s Aguilas

Location: 10:20am Spirit Park, Allen TX

The later games for a change ahhhhh how nice… Feels the same. Let’s get down to the Sunday Showdowns, shall we?

The 3-1 Aguilas face the 3-1 Padres. Coming in knowing these games were vital and remembering that discovery is part of the journey. With 3 subs filling in for an Aguilas team in need of assistance we took the field. The Padres struck first in the 1st with a 2-run inning as the Aguilas replied with 3 of their own upon the wings of Osgood, Rodriguez and Henry with a Screeching Eagle (3 Run HR) to close the 1st. The Padres put up a chicken finger in the top of the second tying the score at a 3 piece. (These chicken puns might go very wrong if I don’t stop here). Top of the 3rd and the Padres score 3 to take the lead and face the Aguilas 3rd inning response. Once again, Osgood, Henry and this time Driggers (Gran Bebida) sent a screeching Eagle over the fence in Center Field. Seems the Padres had seen enough in the 4th as the entire Padre team were done playing nice and provided a Pay Per View (you had to be there to see it) compilation of 9 runs to take a commanding lead. Aguilas went quietly again until Super Sub Lacy Fenn Scores on a SAC fly in the 5th. Aguilas plate 3 more in our final opportunity losing this one to the Padres.

*Honorable Mention: Defensive Gem: Super SUB Oswald Abarca making a crashing full speed catch in LCF sacrificing everything all day to get that ball. Sir, we salute you!

Rodriguez’s Aguilas Vs. Pease/Hauf Storm Chasers

Location: 11:30am Spirit Park, Allen TX

In what was probably the worst start of the season for these Powerful Birds, 11 Aguilas went down as John “The BAMF” Hauf retired 3 innings of Aguilas as Oncor shut down power, by WILL. Down one for the day already these Aguilas dug deep into their feathers and refused to roll over and be roadkill. The Aguilas, Jay “Watch how I” Swank it, turned the lineup with a walk that would change the dynamic of the game. The top of the lineup was committed. Swank on first, Osgood rips a double with authority as rookie Capt. Sh0tz performed his LEAD BY EXAMPLE routine and sent a petrified softball over the scoreboard in LCF a la (Place Rank 1 Power Hitter name Here). Next, Max “Big Country” Henry says YES SIR! and rips a double, scoring on a bit of Driggers Magic sprinkled in RCF. Johnny Manjarrez Rips another double, bouncing over the fence in center field to bring in Driggers. These Aguilas are up 5-2 to end the 4th.

Not a cloud in the sky, yet the weather hunters (in search of ratings) came in with a strategic 5th inning plan a few hits and a Brumley walk loaded the Storm Chaser Truck for Luke “Give me a bat and watch what I do with it” Morgan- who put feathers on a Grand Slam HR to put the Chasers ahead 8-5. Top of the 6th 1 out, Aguilas Rookie Capt and Max “Big Country” Henry go BACK-to-BACK solo shots to come within 1. Top of the 7th Aguilas Super SUB Oswald Abarca doubles to lead off, Matt Myers singles, Johnny Manjarrez rips another scoring Oswald and “Flash” the man, the myth, the legend brings in Myers to give the Aguilas a 9-8 lead. The Aguila defense came in clutch to keep the Chasers at bay. Aguilas take this one with the Storm chasers looking for and finding The Storm.

*Honorable Mention: Defensive Gem: Super SUB Lacy Fenn making a diving full speed catch in LF ending a Storm Chaser rally. Way to GO! The Aguilas salute you!
