On a signal that should make any Storm Chaser anxious when the cooler weather shifts in bringing the potential for Storms with it, the Storm Chasers were ready for a battle with the Cannon Ballers. In a very close game that was a battle all the way the 11 through 6 hitters really carried the Storm Chasers through this game accounting for 15 of the 17 team hits. This included doubles from Hyson, Brumley and Will Ryan, triples from Brumley and Erik and a HR from Luke while Brumley was a HR short of the cycle with a walk included! The Storm Chasers put up 3 in the 1st, 4 in the 2nd, 1 in the 3rd, 3 in the 5th and 3 in the 7th but falling 1 run short in the end.

Brumley 3-3 with a Walk, 1 Doubles, 1 Triple and 2 RBI

Erik Claussen 2-2 with 1 BB, 1 triple, a Sac Fly and 1 RBI

Will Ryan – 3-4 with a double and 3 RBI

Game 2

As it has come to pass many a time now the Storm Chasers like to expend most of their offense in game 1 and hold on with great pitching and defense in game 2. This game was no different as the Storm Chasers only put up 7 but held the Rubber Duck’s offense to only 5 runs with stellar defense from the good guys. Not much in terms of great highlights at the plate to speak of other than a big 3 run shot by Super Sub Will Ryan in the 4th inning and a Han Solo by Brumley which those 2 at bats accounted for more than half the teams runs for the game and put it away for the defense to lock it down and call it a day. Storm Chasers get the split and stay within a game of first place where they play that first place Padre’s team this Sunday to figure out who looks like the top team in the Baum division!
