Game 1: Mint Juleps at Saints

Refreshed from the break, the Mint Juleps were ready to hop back on the horse and race! Mint Juleps started things off with a single from Jockey Dylan Buhrow and a walk by Jockey Captain David Buhrow. Dylan would be brought home by an RBI double from Jockey Driggers, followed by a 2RBI triple from Jockey Nick Barr. Jockey Nikita Blair would walk, and Nick would be brought in with an RBI double from Jockey Simo. Jockey Seth “Pepto” Pepkin would bring 2 in with a single that he tried to stretch into a double (horse’s hooves would not stay on the bag). Lineup would turn over in the 2nd inning with another single by Dylan, brought home by a single from David, followed by a 2RBI homer from Driggers. 3rd inning would see an exciting homer from Jockey Nikita Blair as this captain knows he has been wanting to get that power back for a few weeks now.

Knowing the Saints would be nipping at their heels, Juleps had to keep the bats hot in the 4th inning. Jockeys Daniel Buhrow and Larry Taub would single followed by a walk from HOF Jockey Eddie Tann. Daniel and Larry would be brought in with a 2RBI single from Jockey Dylan Buhrow. Captain David would get on, and Eddie and Dylan would be brought home with another 2RBI double by Jockey Driggers. Jockey Nikita Blair would hit his second homer for 3RBI to end the inning. Juleps would need to hold off the Saints for the bottom of the 4th and 5th innings to run rule and get the first victory of the day! 17-4 WIN!

Game 2: Iron Pigs at Mint Juleps

This game was an all-around team effort and it took every Mint Julep to bring their A-game! Iron Pigs putting up 6 in the top of the 1st, Jockeys Dylan and David would get on for a 3RBI homer from Jockey Driggers to cut the lead in half. Bottom of the 2nd, Jockey Jody Beasley would get on with a single and Jockey Daniel Buhrow would finally get the elusive SHALOM HOMERUN that has been a long time coming. Daniel Buhrow sure has the top of the fence shot nailed and it would always come back in to play…BUT NOT TODAY! The ball currently now has a proper home on top of his Teacher of the Year award from earlier this month. Iron Pigs would now only lead by 1.

Bottom of the 3rd, HOF Jockey Eddie Tann would kick things off with a walk, David would bring Dylan home with a single, Driggers would single, and Jockey Nick Barr would bring them all home with a 3RBI homerun. Jockey Nikita Blair would follow that up with a solo homer of his own and 3rd on the day. Hitting streak would continue with singles from Jockeys Pepto, Jody, and Robbie, but would end with a pop-up to pitcher by Jockey Daniel Buhrow to keep him humble after his homerun. Juleps would be silenced in the 4th, but would come back with a bang in the 5th with solo homeruns by Jockeys Driggers and Simo. Jockey Robbie Franklin would also bring Jockey Seth in with an RBI single.

Going into the bottom of the 6th and final inning, down 14-17, Juleps would need some BIG hits by Jockey Larry Taub and HOF Jockey Eddie Tann to kick things off. Larry Taub would come home on a SAC fly by Jockey Captain David Buhrow. Down 17-15 with 2 outs, Jockey Driggers would hit a monster 2RBI homer to tie the game and his fourth on the day! Jockey Nick Barr would finish things off with a walk-off solo homer to win against the Iron Pigs, 18-17! Great game by both teams!
