Secure minis bye in the process.

Just another day in paradise with the final regular season early double header on Field 4 hitting into a gusty headwind--it was destined for low scoring.

Storm at Trash Pandas: hosting the stacked first place Storm, we got off to a shaky start giving up 3 in the top of the first, letting a couple of "catchable" fly balls fall in.  The offense got off to a good start scratching back for 2 on a clutch 2 RBI single by DBone, but the first inning rally fizzled leaving two runners on.

Our defense bristled, holding the Storm bats in check until we could rally with 2 outs in the bottom of the fifth frame for 3 more runs on consecutive hits by Glosier, Ransom (double), Chenz, Kaminski, Alexander and DBone --> 6-3 Trash Pandas...

The formidable Storm struck back for 3 to tie it up in the top of the seventh, but consecutive hits by Sanchez and Glosier set up Randy! for a walk off double with no outs. Final 7-6 Trash Pandas

Mike Glosier 4-4, RBI

Randy Ransom 3-4, 2 doubles

Dustin Bone 3-3, 2 RBI

Patrick Sanchez 2-3, double

Trash Pandas at Iron Pigs: needing a win to control our own destiny in the final game of the season, we faced another well-oiled machine designed by Coach Ryno (and Coach Kendal).

Our bats went to sleep until late in this one, with the score stuck at 1-0 Pigs after 3 until they doubled that lead to 2-0 in the bottom of the fourth.  We finally scored in the fifth when Garcia doubled,  Henson singled, and Sanchez got the ribbie with a clutch 2 out single. Trash Pandas held serve defensively ---> we have a soccer match, 2-1 Pigs after 5 innings played!

Our offense finally got something going in the top of the sixth plating 3 runs when Ransom started the hitting, followed by a Chenz piece moving Randy over to third, Kaminski collected the SAC RBI, DBone tripled home Chenz, and Garcia brought in Bone. Tight defense and it's 4-3 Trash Pandas after the sixth.

Picking up where we left off, our last three batters got the hitting started in the seventh with consecutive singles by Olander, Henson (clutch), and Sanchez (even clutcher).  These three would all score on hits by Glosier, Chenz, and another Kaminski SAC. 7-3 Trash Pandas going into the bottom of 7.  With their last at bat, the Piggies could only muster 1 run giving us the the 7-4 win, the weekend sweep and the top seed in the Shaw Division minis next weekend.  Good luck to all in the minis!

Chenz 3-4 and rock solid LCF play

DBone 2-3 with a big triple

Robert Garcia 2-3 with a double

Duane Henson 2-3

Patrick "Dirty" Sanchez 3-3

Week 13 Panda Prodigies
