Opening day drawing both games on field 3 with a difficult wind proved to be limiting on both sides.  First up were Knox's Dodgers. First inning we gave up 4 runs and scored one run on the captain's rbi single. That proved to be all the offense we could mustard up. final 5-1.

Casper's Red sox were up next. This was more a back and forth affair with great pitching on both sides. Justin Howard kept us in the game with great execution of our game plan and timely hitting at the plate. Big 6 inning rally started by Scott Harriman taking a clutch walk, followed by a Dan Mele single, 2rbi triple by Ben Collincini, SF by the Captain. Then singles by Adama Glauvitz, Tyler Stevenson and Justin Howard Driving both in. Capping off the big inning was Andy Wetterlin with an RBI single. This put the score in our favor 10-8. Crafty Captain Casper had about 25 seconds left in the game in the bottom of the inning when he came up to the plate and flyed out with a pitch meant to be unhittable and quickly took the automatic out with about 13 seconds left in game to flop sides and have another inning to try and come back. 2 quick outs and then a walk , pinch runner and almost inside the park homer knock to tie the game but an outstanding recovery from a missed dive attempt by Ben Collincini  to get the ball in to the captain to then turn around and relay the throw home to get the final out and end the game. Was a great finish, to opening day and proud of everyone for staying positive and coming up with big plays when we needed it.
