Rangers Rap

The Gers made like a ballerina and split on Sunday.  The first game saw the Gers Kryptonite once again prevail.  Those damn Peckers have our number and cruised to an 18-11 victory over the not yet awake Rangers.  The peckers scored a 10 spot in the 2nd inning and the Gers were unable to recover although fighting gamely till the end.  Babbs was 3 for 3 -all doubles and Dalt continued his hot hitting with 2 hits and a 3 bagger.  Mark  Morris wielded a hot bat going 3 for 3 and Wins had 2 hits....the defense and hot hitting Peckers were ultimately the problem.

The nightcap at 10;20am saw a very spry and game Padres team compete in a hotly contested barn burner versus the Gers.  We started well with a 5 spot in both the 1st and 3rd innings.  The Fathers answered with 3 and 6 in the same frames.  We took a 12-10 lead into the 5th only to have them tie it up with seconds to play.....the 6th was an excellent frame as the Gers scored 8 runs and finally prevailed 20-12.  Hitting stars abounded  with "that" Fallaw -2 HR's and a 2B and 5 Ribbies, Babbs with 3-3 2B (his 4th of the day on a bad wheel) and 2 Ribs, Ben "the Pied" Piper 2 2B's and 2 Ribs, Super Sub Chappy with 3 hits and a dinger and 3 more RBI's, Mark Morris-3 more hits and Wins with a 3 for 3 including a 2b and 3 RBI's.  Key to the game was our top two Jacob and Matt going a collective 7/8 with 6 runs and a HR.  Pitching by Miller held up well in challenging conditions and he chipped in two his as well. Great W after a first game downer and an hour off-very proud of my boy's competitive spirit!!
