Week 5 Article
Brooklyn 14 Brewers 6
On hopefully the last cold day of the season, the Dodgers started off flat. For the first time this year the Dodgers dropped back to back goose eggs to start a game. The Brewers were ahead but a stout defense from the Bums kept them close. Leave it to Sub Jonah Taylor to remind us how to hit the ball effectively. He grabs a single and then Dwayne Henson follows with another. Jay Swank then get a 2 RBI single to keep it going and get the top back up again. Kelly Stites follows with a single as well and Jacob Stites draws a walk and then Ariel Rodriguez pops a single to get 2 RBI's. Rohit Gulhati then finishes off the 5 run inning with his own RBI single. Next inning rolls around and the Dodgers grab another run from a walk from the captain and singles by Matt Casey and Jonah. Next inning Kelly starts with another 1B and Jacob moves him to second with a deep fly. Ariel pushes him over with an RBI triple. Rohit grabs another single and RBI. Leo Cova gets a 1B. The captain moves to first on a miscue allowing Rohit to score. Then Matt 'THE DRAGON' Casey fires one past a diving Brewers left fielder and scorches 4 bags for a 2 out INSIDE THE PARK HR gobbling up 3 RBIs. The Dodgers then add 2 more in their final at bat from singles from Jonah, Dwayne, Kelly, Jacob, and Ryan Driggers. Dwayne gets 2 runs via wild card runner extraordinaire Carlos Lopez while Jacob and Ryan grab the RBI's. Brewers are unable to grab 8 in the last inning and the Dodgers win their 7th in a row.
THE DRAGON 2-3 1 1B, 1 HR, 3 RBI, 1 R
Dwayne Henson 2-3 2 1B, 2 R
Rohit Gulhati 2-2 2 1B, 1 BB, 2 RBI, 1 R
Sea Wolves 12 Dodgers 2
Sea Wolves hit better, field better( a couple of web gems by Grayson Vick), pitch better. Leads to run rule after 5. Only highlights was a Jacob Stites rocket over the fence in the first, Ryan Driggers going up to 10 feet to grab hot liner, and Kelly Stites short hopping another hot liner and throwing a dart to 2nd for a force out.
