Sock Puppets 10 Dodgers 7

A really bad case of déjà vu sets in on the Dodgers in game 1. Looking for avenge one of their 3 losses of the season the Dodgers were ready for Sock Puppets this time. No more crazy lefty business from their pitcher and Homerun hitter Barry Epstein to deal with in this game. Unfortunately, the force was strong with the Puppets substitute pitcher Grant Carver. The bats were stymied and only 1 run was scored for the Dodgers through 4 innings. The bats of the Puppets started off hot and grabbed 6 in the first and 4 more by the end of 4. First game score was 9-1 after 4. Second game score was 10-1 after 4. Kelly Stites singled in that 4th inning and Rohit Gulhati drew a walk and it looked like the bats were starting to wake up. Unfortunately Ryan Driggers didn't get all/most of his hit but still managed to move Kelly into scoring position. Then Ariel Rodriguez didn't get all of his hit as well but still managed to get that goose egg gone by earning a SAC scoring Kelly. Down by nine going into the 5th the bats and defense started to get going. Leo Cova singled, Matt Casey and the Captain drew walks. Unfortunately, with the bases loaded and no outs the Dodgers were only able to get 2 runs on a Steve Enda Sac fly. The momentum seemed to still swinging the Dodger way as the defense would hold the Puppets scoreless the rest of the game. 10-4 going into the 6th. Jay Swank as he's done all year leads the Dodgers with a single. Unfortunately the Puppets get two quick outs. With 2 outs and 1 on Ryan Driggers rips a single which is then followed by an Ariel triple. Jacob Stites then gets his groove back and smacks a RBI single for the last run of the inning. Dodgers had crept back into the game. Unfortunately for them only 1 inning remained and despite another hustle play by Matt and single by the Captain to follow the Dodgers only managed 1 more run on another Steve Sac Fly.

Brooklyn 15 Red Sox 10

After a disappointing loss at the foot of the evil possessed Sock Puppets, the Brooklyn squad took on another team of foot garments. Hoping to shake the curse of talking toe warmers the started the game with singles by both Kelly and Rohit. This was followed by a double by Ryan and then a sac fly by Jacob to get the Dodgers on the board this time in the first with 2 runs. The socks from Beantown grabbed 1 themselves to end the first. Matt led off the 2nd with a single turned into a double by hustle and then Carlos 'Peluka' Lopez grabs a RBI single scoring the hustling Matt. Dwayne Henson draws a walk and then Jay knocks Carlos in with a single of his own. Kelly smacks a double scoring Dwayne to end the scoring for the Brooklyn 2nd. The Sox get another making it 5-2 after 2. Ryan then leads off with a double and Jacob knocks him home. The Sox put 3 on the board to get it really close. Matt leads off the 4th with another single turned into a double with hustle. Matt tags and hustles to 3rd on fly ball by the Captain and then scores on a Sac by Carlos. The Sox of Red then take the lead with a 3 run inning going into the 6th 10-9. Needing 1 run to push the game to another inning, Matt drew a clutch walk. The Captain then singled and a hustling Matt was able to score on another RBI Sac Fly by Peluka. This tied it up at 10 and then the defense held to push it to the 7th inning. As Dwayne has been doing all year, he led the crucial 7th inning off with single. Jay and Kelly then followed his lead and did the same. Then Ryan singled in a run, Ariel hustled a double into 2 more runs. Jacob then ripped another single scoring 2 more. Leo grabbed himself a RBI Sac Fly and the Dodgers had smoked 5 runs. The pitching and defense held and the team from Brooklyn pulled another one out at the end.
