Red Sox sweep Angels, right the ship!

The Red Sox played Andy Williams’ Angels for a doubleheader on a beautiful morning.

The Sox scored 4 in the 1st on HRs from Garett Granato, Joe Calvano and a 2 run shot from Eli Goldaris.  The Sox scored 6 in the top of the 3rd on Brian Conn’s leadoff hit, Sheldon Fulton’s hit, a run scoring 2B by Granato, Calvano’s 3 run HR, a Ryan Maxwell hit and Josh Winsor’s 2 run HR.  A Fulton rbi hit left the Sox up 11-5 after 4 innings. In the 5th, Calvano hit his 3rd HR and Winsor followed with a 2 run HR.  The Sox scored 9 in the 6th featuring a grand Slam from Maxwell, hits from Ian Contreras, Dorian Moore, run scoring hits from Fulton and Granato and a 2 run hit from Austin Montgomery in the 23 -9 win.

Game 2 had a tighter lower scoring game. The Sox, now hosts scored 4 in the home half of the 1st on a Granato HR, run scoring 2B from Goldaris, and run scoring hit from Alfredo Sardi and SF from Winsor. The Sox added 3 in the 2nd on a Conn BB, Fulton hit, a 2 run hit from Maxwell. The Angels scored 5 in the top of the 4th trimming the lead to 7-6 but the Sox answered with 4 on a 3 run HR from Granato and run scoring Maxwell hit. The Sox won 11-7.
